Scott Thayer, DDS, MS
Dr. Thayer was born in Houston, Texas, but he doesn’t recall a thing about the big city life. When he was young his family moved to Lake Jackson, Texas where he spent the entirety of his childhood and teenage years. After graduating high school, Dr. Thayer ventured a good 10-hour drive out west to attend Texas Tech University. There he met the love of his life, his college sweetheart, Domenique, and discovered his professional goal to become a dentist.
Upon his graduation from Texas Tech, he made his way down to San Antonio to attend the prestigious and nationally ranked University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio School of Dentistry. Dr. Thayer strove to become the best dentist possible and soak in all he could while in school and picked up many honors and awards along the way. This was also when his interest in the field of endodontics was kindled.
Dr. Thayer graduated dental school with high honors and in high regards from his faculty and peers. His education was not yet done, as he relocated to Oklahoma City to complete a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency (AEGD) at the University of Oklahoma’s School of Dentistry. After that tremendous year of continued learning and gaining clinical experience, he was on the move once more, this time to the city of New Orleans to complete his specialty residency in Endodontics at LSU’s School of Dentistry.
Following the completion of his endodontic residency program, Dr. Thayer completed several years in private practice before ultimately making the leap to start his own practice, Leon River Endodontics, where he is excited and beyond proud to serve the Central Texas communities of Bell County and beyond.
Dr. Thayer is an avid learner, studying and researching advances in endodontics and dentistry. He is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, Texas Dental Association, Central Texas District Dental Society, and is currently a board eligible candidate for the American Board of Endodontics.
Dr. Thayer and his wife, Domenique, have two wonderful kiddos, John Beckett and Lennon, who keep them on their toes and super busy! When not at the office, you can find Dr. Thayer watching sports, keeping active in any way possible, and living his life to the fullest with family and friends.
